I first made this at Thanksgiving and it was a massive hit! Everyone loved it and said that this recipe should now be classified as a family favourite that needs to me made with every meal that involves turkey. It's tart with a bit of sweet and just plain awesome. I use whatever juice I have on hand.... normally apple-grape. I can see how orange juice would also pair well with this recipe. This year for Christmas I have made a quadruple batch to go with the 32 lb turkey my sister will be making.
Simple, easy recipe with decent flavor.
I made this last Thanksgiving and it was a hit. It's super easy, made it the day before, Just right.
Great, just as others have noted. Since 2001, I have made this recipe, usually early in the week of Thanksgiving as it keeps very well. I use leftovers (if we have any) to make sandwiches, too. My kids like it when I put it through a food mill for a smoother texture, but it is also good chunky.
Great taste, easy to make and can be done the day before. I've made this every year since 2001 by request.
Easy and great tasting! Used orange juice instead of grape and added some fresh grated nutmeg. Everyone loved it, I will definitely be making this again!
Perfect as is! Made this for Thanksgiving & have made it numerous times since. Most recently, poured over brie cheese & baked.
Delicious. Made this the day before Thanksgiving with the "help" of my three-year old. Entire family enjoyed it! Didn't change anything. Will keep this on the Thanksgiving menu.
I don't have anything to add to the praise of this dish that others haven't already said. I made it just as written and it was great! I just want to make a suggestion for what to do if you have any left over: I made sandwiches with leftover turkey, oatmeal bread, some lite cream cheese with chives, lettuce, and this cranberry sauce. They were the best turkey sandwiches ever.
absolutely wonderful - great reviews all around the table! made the day before. super easy.
Tangy is right! Very good and very simple. Everybody loved it at this years thanksgiving :) Next time I would possibly use a sweeter apple rather than the sour "granny smith" apple.
Fantastic! What a nice compliment to our Thanksgiving meal!
I love this cranberry relish it is by far the best I have ever had. I have a made a few substitutions. Instead of grape juice I use local apple cider (mulled or unmulled). At the end I squeeze in half of an orange as well as the rind. I love the flavor of citrus it adds to the flavor. If you like you can add a touch of clove just a touch. I usually make this a few days ahead of time so the flavors can mingle. This is a big hit even for noncranberry lovers.
