I first made this at Thanksgiving and it was a massive hit! Everyone loved it and said that this recipe should now be classified as a family favourite that needs to me made with every meal that involves turkey. It's tart with a bit of sweet and just plain awesome.
I use whatever juice I have on hand.... normally apple-grape. I can see how orange juice would also pair well with this recipe. This year for Christmas I have made a quadruple batch to go with the 32 lb turkey my sister will be making.
Great, just as others have noted. Since 2001, I have made this recipe, usually early in the week of Thanksgiving as it keeps very well. I use leftovers (if we have any) to make sandwiches, too. My kids like it when I put it through a food mill for a smoother texture, but it is also good chunky.
