How to Make It

Step 1

In a large saucepan, bring cider to a boil and cook until reduced to 1 cup, about 40 minutes.

Step 2

Combine reduced cider, cranberries, sugar, spices, salt and apple in a medium saucepan. Cook over low heat, stirring until sugar has dissolved. Simmer sauce until thickened and cranberries have popped, stirring occasionally, 10 to 12 minutes. (Sauce will thicken more when cool.)

Amazing! This is my go-to recipe for cranberry sauce. It's basic, yet delicious and lends itself to so many variations if you like to experiment and switch things up. NOT just for Thanksgiving dinner.

Fantastic cranberry sauce---people that don't like cranberry sauce like this one. The texture of the added apple and the spices make the difference---changed allspice to 1/4 teasp.
