This classic Southern comfort food is great for family events or potlucks. It’s custardy and sweet without being overly sugary or eggy, and the fresh chives on top help bring out the dish’s savory flavors. For an extra kick, add 1/4 cup of chopped jalapeño.

How to Make It

Preheat oven to 350°F. Whisk together sour cream, butter, cream, eggs, and cream-style corn in a large bowl until well combined. Add muffin mix, cornstarch, salt, and pepper, and stir until just combined. Stir in Cheddar and Parmesan cheeses. Pour mixture into a greased (with cooking spray) 9-inch square metal baking pan. Bake in preheated oven until set in center and browned on top, about 1 hour and 10 minutes. Remove from oven, and let stand 10 minutes. Cut into 9 squares. Sprinkle with chives.
