Cola- Marinated Flank Steak
Have cola with dinner, but on your steak. Cola lends a sweetness to flank steak, mixed with savory flavors.

Was okay.
This recipe was fantastic! I used Dr. Pepper instead of coke to add a little bit of sweetness to the marinade. My brother and I loved it! So easy!
Yummy! I used Cherry Coke and it turned out great!
Doesn't take to much work, I'm a law student and was able to make this for myself for dinner for a few days of dinner for the week. Awesome recipe...
I followed the recipe exactly except I used a pound of meat rather than two and did not brush the sauce over it. I absolutely loved it! I marinaded it in a dish rather than a zip lock bag. I ate it hot out of the oven with some mashed cauliflower/potatoes. Over the next few days, I chopped it up and put it over salad for lunch with some feta cheese, onion, tomatoes, and cilantro-- delicious! The meat was pretty tender, but I think I will let it marinade over night rather than for 3 hours next time.
This is the first time we've cooked with flank steak. Hubby LOVED this! I enjoyed it as well. Easy to prep. We BBQed it instead of cooking in the oven. A keeper, indeed!
We will make this again. The recipe was easy and didn't take a lot of preparation. I wish I had marinated it longer so the flavor might have been stronger. My 5 year old found it too chewy, but she liked the taste. The grown ups thought it was great!
My fiance differ on the taste of this dish. I thought the marinade taste was a little weird, but he thought it was good, so I will compromise at 3 stars. The marinade was very easy to put together. Instead of using a ziplock bag, I used a dish to marinate in to be more "green." I was already using the oven to make oven fries, so I didn't broil the steak. Instead, I used a skillet on medium high with a little bit of oil to cook the steak, 6 minutes on each side.
This is a GREAT marinade. I thought the ingredients were a little strange but I wanted to try it. The only change I made is we grilled it over charcoals instead of broiling since I don't really enjoy the mess broiling makes and left off the step of brushing the second side with marinade before turning it although now that I have tried it we will do that next time. My family gave this a big thumbs up!
My Husband and I LOVE this recipe I make it at least three times a month, I made it for his Dad who came to visit and he loved it to I had to copy the recipe for him before he left. It has great flavor, and the meat is so very tender!! Who would have guessed to use Cola, (by the way Coke Cola) I think gives the best flavor! And I did not use fresh garlic I used garlic powder and I did notice any difference in taste. YUMMY I will be making it again tonight for dinner. Make sure you make enough because I have never had left overs with this dish and pairing it with either baked potato or scalloped and a freshly steamed veggie mmm mmm out of this world!
