There is no question that Coca-Cola Cake is simply one of the best sheet cake baking recipes on earth. The richly sweet syrup and magical bubbly brew of carbonated cola is the not-so-secret ingredient that gives this cake its moist and tender texture. This is the perfectly easy cake for any occasion, from birthdays to Christmas. This is a cake the whole family can agree on. 

How to Make It

Step 1

Combine Coca-Cola and buttermilk; set aside.

Step 2

Beat butter at low speed with an electric mixer until creamy. Gradually add sugar; beat until blended. Add egg and vanilla; beat at low speed until blended.

Step 3

Combine flour, cocoa, and soda. Add to butter mixture alternately with cola mixture; begin and end with flour mixture. Beat at low speed just until blended.

Step 4

Stir in marshmallows. Pour batter into a greased and floured 13- x 9-inch pan. Bake at 350° for 30 to 35 minutes. Remove from oven; cool 10 minutes. Pour Coca-Cola Frosting over warm cake; garnish, if desired.

Step 5

Note: Don't make the frosting ahead--you need to pour it over the cake shortly after baking.

Try almond milk.  But PLEASE do not rate a recipe if you have not made it.  It skews the reviews, and to rate the recipe poorly without having made it is unfair to the recipe and its author.

This is a delicious and moist cake. Since I use unsalted butter for baking, I would add 1/2 teaspoon of salt to the cake recipe and an eighth of a teaspoon to the icing. I served it with whipped cream sweetened with brown sugar and a dash of fleur de sel for a sweet and salty topping.

This cake was easy to prepare and was very moist, I should have been much more observant to read to not make the frosting ahead of time because it was not pourable and was much more like a spreadable frosting, nonetheless, the cake turn out well and I would definitely make it again.

Delicious; I did reduce the sugar in the cake to 1 1/2 cups, because of the addition of the marshmellows and I think the next time that I make it, I will only add 1 cup of the marshmellows b/c the frosting is very sweet.

This is the most fun cake to make. I love how light and fluffy, yet moist and rich it turns out! I made this for a dear friend's birthday. I can't wait to see what she thinks of it! :)
