  • Whisk together half-and-half, eggs, and vanilla in a shallow dish. Dip babka slices in half-and-half mixture.

  • Melt 2 tablespoons of the butter in a large nonstick skillet over medium. Add 2 coated babka slices, and cook until golden brown, about 2 minutes per side. Transfer to a plate, and cover to keep warm. Repeat procedure 3 times with remaining babka slices and butter. If desired, drizzle French toast with maple syrup, and serve with fruit.
