Nice and versatile, these sweet apples are delicious served over ice cream or pound cake but also taste great alone.

How to Make It

Step 1

Combine apples and lemon juice in a 4-quart slow cooker; toss well to coat. Add brown sugar and next 5 ingredients, combining well.

Step 2

Cover and cook on LOW 3 hours.

Step 3

Stir together water and cornstarch in a small bowl; stir into apples.

Step 4

Cover and cook on LOW 3 more hours or until apples are tender.

Step 5

Prep: 16 minutes, Cook: 6 hours

Step 6

Slow-Cooker Size: 4-quart

Nice and tasty, if very sweet. Pairs very well with vanilla ice cream. Agree with the other reviews that the cooking time listed here is too long and can be reduced quite substantially, though that will depend on the power of the slow cooker used. I'd recommend checking every 30 minutes after the first hour and stop the cooking once the apples are tender but still retain just a bit of crunch

Wow...these are fantastic! Similar to other reviews, I cooked on low for 4 hours, adding the cornstarch after 2 hours to preserve a little texture/crunch in the apples. We served them over belgian waffles and pancakes with a dollop of freshly whipped cream for an unforgettably delicious Sunday brunch certainly worthy of guests. These would be killer over pound cake or ice cream...but then again, why choose right? :)

This was excellent! Flavorful, easy and delicious. Can even add another apple with the rest of the ingredients and it is still perfect. Serve as a side dish, or warm over ice cream, or with fat free whip cream.

This was fabulous and so easy! I cut back on the slow cooker time....2 hours and then 1 1/2 hours after adding the cornstarch. Kept the apples slightly crunchy. Added 7 grannies instead of 6. Used pecans instead of walnuts. Delish with a little bit of ice cream or just plain! Will make again and again!

This is so delicious. I just used Cortland and Macs. I could've definitely used more than the 6 apples. Such a delicious and easy dessert recipe. It's like the apple pie without the crust! I put a dollop of ice cream on it and it was off the hook- De-Lish! Enjoy it! I also only cooked for 4 hours on low instead of the 6 that they stated. The apples were getting a bit too tender! Love, love and highly recommend!
