This was pretty bland. Bland and a soft texture is a boring combination. We prefer something more zippy.
My "boys" (one is the 6'7" 250lb hubby and the 6' 150lb teenager) LOVED this recipe. I used very little oil to fry these in (like you would use for pancakes), and I thinned out the gravy with skim milk so it wasn't too rich. This is definitely a keeper.
The recipe is very, very rich. I had a hard time putting it down. However, my boyfriend absolutely loved them. This could be a very good recipe, but isn't exactly a crowd pleaser.
I made these for husband and myself last night for dinner, I was super excited about them, they looked great in the picture. Well I made a full batch and the gravy to go with them and they were gross. I will not be making these again we ended up ordering pizza.
These are excellent and versatile. We added sauteed mushrooms and served with a side vegetable. The gravy is perfect for these. You can also substitute self-rising corn meal for pancake mix for a change.
Super Quick and Easy recipe. My whole family loved it. I didnt make the quick gravy that is suggested. I just used a McCormick chicken gravy packet and made it with 1/2 water and 1/2 milk. It was great
