This 5-ingredient casserole features convenient frozen hash brown potatoes, a can of Sloppy Joe sauce and can of chili.

How to Make It

Step 1

Preheat oven to 425°. Brown ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat, stirring often, 7 to 10 minutes or until meat crumbles and is no longer pink. Stir in sloppy joe sauce and chili.

Step 2

Spoon chili mixture into 8 lightly greased 10-oz. ramekins. Top with frozen hash browns.

Step 3

Bake, covered, at 425° for 30 minutes; uncover and bake 10 more minutes or until browned and crisp. Sprinkle with cheese, and bake 5 more minutes or until cheese is melted.

Step 4

Note: We tested with Manwich Original Sloppy Joe Sauce and Hormel Chili with Beans. Chili mixture can be baked in a lightly greased 13- x 9-inch baking dish as directed.

Made this just like the recipe said except I added onions when I was cooking the beef. Yum!

I'm moving to another state, so trying to use up ingredients I have in the pantry. I mixed panko bread crumbs with the cheese. It was awesome, and solved the problem of the potatoes not being crispy enough. Yum.

I have made this multiple times using the exact ingredients listed. It's simple and satisfying. The only changes I made were to mix the hash browns in after the initial cooking and recovered it. This is only because we don't care for crunchy. I also only melted the cheese for 1 minute.

The ingredients list is a little confusing when it comes to the hash browns, since it mentions 30 oz and 4 cups (which is 30 oz about). It's definitely using half of a 30oz bag. Beyond that little confusion, this tastes really good and was quite easy to make.
