One slice of toast topped with the beef mixture is enough for 1 serving. VERY good flavor and so easy!! I used a little more cheese than called for and served with bagged salad. Either use the optional pickles jalapenos or add a can of diced chiles it needs it for a little kick.
Made this for dinner and it was a hit with my 4 year old daughter. She loves sloppy joeys so this was a great spin off and disassembled my 11th month old daughter also loved!
Very tasty!! Didn't use peppers but took others suggestion and used pepper jack cheese. Will put in my rotation.
My family was not a fan of this.
Made it for dinner tonight, my 2 teens loved it. Ran out of ketchup so didn't add the full cup, but it was still tasty. I liked the jalapeno addition. Will definitely make again.
I tweaked this recipe a little bit. I used 1 lb lean ground beef and 1/2 lb ground sweet Italian sausage. I used fire roasted diced tomatoes with garlic. I did not use the jalapeños but instead used crumbled bacon with jalapeños sprinkled on top of the shredded cheese. (I found this by the croutons and bacon bits.) I only put the bacon on my husband's dish since I don't like jalapeños. I think I will cut back or omit the BBQ sauce. It was too strong of a flavor and overpowered the other tastes. I served it with pasta salad from the grocery store deli. The recipe was easy and fast to make. Will definitely make this again. Hubby loved it too! This is surely not your mother's sloppy joes! I only gave it 4 stars because of the BBQ flavor.
Absolutely amazing..jalapenos really make it great!!!
I made this tonight for myself and my two kids but instead of Texas toast I used whole wheat buns they loved it!!!!
I made this last night and my husband loved it! Its very simple to make and doesn't take very long, Ill definitely be making it again!
My husband loved this dish and complimented it over and over again! He said he likes it even better than regular Sloppy Joes. It is rich, zesty, and yummy!
Delicious! Skipped the jalapeño peppers this time but will definitely try them next time! Made seasoned curly fries for a quick and yummy side. Boyfriend and our roommate loved it! :)
Very easy and kids liked it. That's a good combo!
This was a huge hit with my husband. He said he could eat a gallon bucket of it. Left out the jalapenos & added pepper jack cheese. Delish!
I accidentally left out the bbq sauce, but my family still enjoyed it! I left out the jalapeños but switched out the shredded cheese for Pepper Jack cheese. Thumbs up
my family loved this!!
Nice alternative to what we usually eat every week! Made with peppers and thought it had just right amount of kick. But, it is a heavy meal so don't have big plans for after dinner...made me ready for a nap!
Our go to easy weeknight meal. It is also good over pasta!!!
I have three very picky girls and they LOVED this recipe! I will definitely be adding it to the rotation! I did however leave out the peppers but it was still very good!
Usually when I mention the possibility of sloppy joes, two or three family members groan. However, they inhaled this and praised it. I not only liked the taste, but the ease of preparation. I will use this recipe in my rotation.
I use Food Lion's generic garlic loaf, and slice for individual portions. I could eat this stuff 7 days a week. Great meaty taste, and plenty of bang in the tang!
We also use ground turkey instead of beef. And even without the jalapeno peppers it tastes fantastic! Easy, quick good meal anytime of the year.
This is a tasty, fast, easy week night meal. I used ground round and substituted 1 tablespoon chopped chipotle peppers and that gave it a very nice smoky flavor with just a bit of kick. We had cole slaw and fruit salad for side dishes . Will definitely make it again.
my three kids and a neighbor kid all gobbled this up- as did my husband! i used ground turkey. kids were just asking for this again and it'll definitely go in the busy weeknight rotation!
This is so quick and easy! Everyone liked it at our house. Will make again with my favorite BBQ Sauce.
This was quick and easy and really delicious. My 3 kids (ranging from 2-11) ate it up and my husband ate 3 pieces! Not especially healthy, but for a baseball night, perfect :) I did modify just a bit- used ground turkey, reduced ketchup to 3/4 cup (using organic HFCS free ketchup), Bull's Eye original BBQ and instead of the jalepenos I added a few generous shakes of tabasco sauce.
Quick & easy. Great weeknight meal. Would make it again. I added the optional jalapeno peppers & juice & it gave it a nice kick. Hard to please family loved it & went back for seconds!
I found this recipe much too tangy, although my husband liked it. I did not add the optional jalapeño peppers. I will be interested to see how others might doctor it and see if the results are less tangy.
