How to Make It

Step 1

Combine first 4 ingredients in a large bowl.

Step 2

Cut butter into flour mixture with a fork or pastry blender until crumbly; add buttermilk, stirring just until dry ingredients are moistened.

Step 3

Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface; knead 2 or 3 times.

Step 4

Pat or roll to 1/2-inch thickness; cut with a 1 1/2-inch round cutter, and place on a baking sheet.

Step 5

Bake at 400° for 15 minutes or until biscuits are golden.

Not good. Find a different recipe. They weren't inedible, just completely lackluster. I expect my biscuits to be puffy, buttery, flaky... I could have gotten better out of canned from the grocery store. I wouldn't make these again.
