DELICIOUS! Blueberries are a big crop here and I wanted to find another way to use those in the freezer. This is it! Instead of 3/4 cup simple syrup, I used 1/2 cup syrup + 1/4 cup blueberry schnapps. Perfect!!!!
Made using farmers-market blackberries & prepped syrup/fruit in the morning. Super-easy to finish in the evening. Served in martini glasses with a very thin slice of lime floating on top.
I used brown sugar and a nice dark rum along with blueberries picked that morning and I thought it turned out excellently. Everyone wanted seconds including my bartender-friend who was over for dinner. It was pretty easy with the only tough part being straining the skins/seeds out which was time consuming because my wire mesh strainer was a bit too fine. I will likely make it again.
