The cake is very good and moist but I had to bake it for 1 1/2 hrs. at 275 and there is nothing wrong with my oven. I saw on another site where someone baked it at 375 for 1 hr. Next time I'll try 350 or 375 and hope it comes out as moist. The recipe says 2 1/4 c. sugar in the ingredients, but in the directions it says 2 1/8. That is probably right. I used 2 1/4 and it came out a little sweet. Next time I'll try 2 1/8 or maybe even 1 3/4.a The recipe says that you can use 4 1/2 c. powdered sugar if you wish, but I used 3 1/2 and it made a lot of frosting. Someone suggested cupcakes at 275 for 35 minutes. When I finished baking, the top of the cake was a medium brown colour, which was fine since I was frosting it.
