  • Place beans in a large saucepan. Cover with water 3 inches above beans; let soak overnight.

  • Drain beans, and return to saucepan; add beer. Slowly bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, 30 minutes or until beer has evaporated.

  • Add remaining ingredients, stirring well. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer 1 hour. Uncover and continue to simmer 2 hours or until beans are tender.
