I thought this was really good for a weeknight meal. It came together easily and was delicious. I added about 1 tsp. of italian seasoning and some garlic powder, and a pinc of crushed red pepper to give the dish a little more zing. Also, I think it is better if cooled for longer than 5 mintues, I let it sit for about 15 minutes. I will definitely be making this again.
I loved this; my husband said it tasted like Hamburger Helper. I guess it does, but I like Hamburger Helper!
Thought this was just okay. Not a lot of flavor folllowing the exact ingredients. Don't think it is worth making again.
We love this recipe, with a few alterations... I use 3/4 lb of beef, and add a can of diced tomatoes. I also use jar spaghetti sauce with chopped veggies in place of tomato sauce, and add much more than the recipe calls for (probably 2 cups, but just eyeball it until it seems like a meaty sauce). super leftovers, too!
My family enjoyed this.
I enjoyed this recipe. My cheese sauce was a bit gritty, but overall a good recipe and very tasty!
My apologies to CL for only 2 stars, but this isn't one of their best efforts. Although it's very edible and it's quick, it was bland, somewhat dry, and very gluey due I believe to the thick cheese sauce. If you're determined to make it, try crumbled sweet italian sausage, extra tomato sauce, italian seasoning and maybe red pepper flakes. Skip making the heavy cheese sauce and sprinkle shredded cheese on top instead. That, of course, changes it into a different recipe entirely, but might be a better reward for your efforts.
I substituted ground turkey for the ground beef in this recipe and my family absolutely LOVED IT!! I have recommended this recipe to everyone I know!! Great for a quick meal on week nights.
