Doesn't "vinaigrette" call for vinegar in a recipe//

I made exactly as directed. It was terrible. No flavor besides lemon. Not like any vinaigrette, I have ever had.

What is called "Vinaigrette" now, used to be called "French Dressing". NOT to be confussed with that pink/orange stuff in the supermarkets.
