Despite its dubious nutritional reputation, the average frank actually beats a basic burger patty by about 100 calories (assuming you don't go the foot-long route; food shouldn't be measured in feet). Try organic, grass-fed, or uncured wieners, which tend to have less sodium. Then load up on fresh condiments like these. A whole-grain bun is another healthy upgrade, adding 3g of filling fiber.
This was so good! So quick and easy, this was a great, delicious new way to have hot dogs on a weeknight. We didn't have cilantro so we had to leave that out, and I think I liked it better than if we had put it in. Awesome recipe!!
