Place oranges in a medium saucepan; cover with water. Bring to a boil, and boil 30 minutes. Drain; let oranges cool to room temperature and quarter.
Combine remaining ingredients in a medium saucepan; stir well, and boil 5 minutes.
Place orange quarters in an 8-inch square pan. Pour sugar mixture over orange quarters; place pan on grill 6 to 8 inches from hot coals. Cook 1 1/2 hours, basting oranges with syrup occasionally. Use for basting pork.
