Makes about 2 cups; 8 to 12 servings

Notes: Serve this sauce as a relish with turkey or use it on the Cranberry Crown Cheesecake.

How to Make It

Step 1

Sort cranberries, discarding any bruised or decayed fruit. Rinse and drain berries.

Step 2

In an 8- or 9-inch square baking dish, mix cranberries, sugar, liqueur, and orange peel.

Step 3

Bake, uncovered, in a 350° regular or convection oven, stirring occasionally, until berries are tender when pierced and juices are syrupy, about 1 hour. Serve warm or cool.

Step 4

This is delicious and so very easy!! I made with orange juice and added a little cinnamon and nutmeg, also a 1/2tsp of almond extract when it came out of the oven. It was done after about 50 minutes and I put it on a cold water bath to cool it before refrigerating it. It has a great, tart taste and perfect consistency.

Very nice dish and easy to toss together.I used orange juice because I didn't have the liqueur. I reduced the sugar and added chopped walnuts.
