How to Make It

Step 1

Core apples; peel top third of each. Divide lemon into 6 wedges; stuff 1 wedge into cavity of each apple, and set aside.

Step 2

Combine water and sugar in a shallow baking dish; stir well. Place apples in dish. Bake at 350° for 45 minutes or until tender, basting occasionally with pan liquid. Serve hot or cold with whipping cream, if desired.
