Ok I made this several times.. usually ends up with a pan full of grease and butter where the lil smokies are swimming not having a chance to get crispy. So I made these today Dbl batch for the Steelers denver play off game. :) and I cut the recipe down on butter and brown sugar. 6 tablespoons of butter for a dbl batch, (almost 1 full stick) 1 cup of brown sugar used, melted the butter, mixed half a cup of sugar in with the butter, the other half I sprinkled on top of the smokies, the butter/sugar mix I spooned out on to the sides of my rows.. turned out perfect not a pool of grease, they are a bit crispy, oh for the bacon I used irregular cuts 2 lbs, cut away most of the fat and used more actual meat.
