The perfect ice cream to eat while wearing a sweater.

When it comes to fall flavors, we’re pretty much locked in to pumpkin and apple. Though you can fiddle with each of them around the margins, the bigger question is more often where these flavors show up.

While coffee, lattes, and now even hard seltzer are fair game, you’d be less likely to think of pumpkin or apple flavored ice cream given that autumn tends to be the time of year when we shove our favorite summer treat to the back of the freezer. However, some new releases from Target’s Market Pantry brand would suggest that fall-themed ice cream doesn’t have to be the oxymoron some might think.

Specifically, it would seem that Target is now your go-to destination for pints of Pumpkin Cheesecake and Apple Crisp ice creams. While the big box retailer’s website confirms the existence of these 16-ounce pints, there’s only scant information to go off in terms of a product description, but I think you can imagine what Pumpkin Cheesecake ice cream tastes like if you try hard enough. Similarly, Apple Crisp probably takes most of its taste cues from the namesake dessert. Expect something akin to the autumnal fruit, plus the mixture of brown sugar, butter, and oats that round things out.

Both of these Market Pantry products are available now, but only for a limited time. But at just $1.99 a pint, it won’t cost a fortune to fill your entire freezer with enough of these ice cream flavors to carry you into 2021. Heck, buy both flavors and mix them up. Maybe it works, maybe it doesn’t. Only you can decide.
