If you grew up reading The Little House on the Prairie books by Laura Ingalls Wilder or watching the show on T.V., you may be glad to know that these inspirational stories are being presented on the stage in a musical that's currently touring nationally. Melissa Gilbert, who played “Laura” for 10 years in the television series is now all grown up and playing “Ma.”

I was refreshing my memory about some of the stories and came across a Little House Cookbook and got to thinking about all the food that was featured in these books. Check out Prairie Recipes for Your House and see if any of these ring a bell. And let me know if you can think of other foods and recipes that were shared by the Ingalls family or others in the Walnut Grove community. That prissy little Nellie Oleson wasn't likely to be in the kitchen, but plenty of the other girls and women were!
