These Adoptable Cats Are Named After Chicken Sandwiches and It's Adorable
Forget the Popeyes/Chick-fil-A feud—these sandwiches are way cuter.
If you haven’t opened Twitter in a hot minute, you might not be aware that Chick-fil-A and Popeye’s are feuding.
Long story short: Popeyes released a chicken sandwich this week and Chick-fil-A went on the defensive.
"Bun + Chicken + Pickles = all the (heart emoji) for the original," Chick-fil-A tweeted on Monday.
This not-so-veiled subtweet inspired Popeyes to quote the message and add “... y’all good?”
Social media did what social media does, and the whole thing is now a bona fide viral sensation.
The feud appears to be working in Popeyes’ favor: People are flocking to the chicken chain in droves, and the sandwich is getting rave reviews.
We attempted to compare the sandwiches in question today, August 20, but we weren’t able to get our hands on Popeyes’ version. By lunchtime, our local restaurant had already descended into chaos: The drive-thru line was affecting traffic, the parking lot and surrounding parking lots were packed, and the wait time for one sandwich was approaching an hour.

It’s not that we’re not happy about Popeyes’ new menu item—because we most certainly are—but these fast food Twitter wars are getting kinda old, don’t ya think? It seems like certain brands aren’t sure whether they’re supposed to be peddling burgers or submitting jokes for the next Comedy Central Roast.
That said, you know what we’re not tired of? Adoptable animals finding their forever homes. (That, my friends, is what you call a smooth transition).
Kansas Humane Society, located in Wichita, is using the viral feud to get the word out about two very fine looking felines: Chick-fil-A Chicken Sandwich and Popeyes Chicken Sandwich.
Unlike the sandwiches they’re named after, there’s no question that these cats are equally amazing.
Chick-fil-A Chicken Sandwich is a spayed one-year-old domestic longhair. She’s a petite lady (only six pounds) and she’s got a gorgeous tan and orange fur coat. And would you just look at those eyes?!
Popeyes Chicken Sandwich, meanwhile, is a neutered two-year-old domestic shorthair. This orange and white fella weighs eight pounds and is extremely distinguished looking.
We reached out to KHS for more details about the kitties and their adorable names, but we haven’t heard back just yet.
