Pokémon. At that very mention of this word, you can immediately tell whether someone is a fan based whether a knowing grin stretches across their face or they roll their eyes. But whether you love or love to hate on Pokémon and everyone running around phone-to-face trying to "catch 'em all," it's undeniable that the food world has sat up and taken notice of this current obsession.
Scroll through Instagram and you're sure to see a few Pokéball or Pikachu-inspired foods, along with local restaurants and cafes advertising their themed dishes. You can even search out food establishments that are Pokéstops (a place for Pokémon Go players to catch Pokémon at) through Yelp's new search tool. And quite frankly, it's all pretty amusing. The Pokémon craze has brought out some very real culinary creativity and artistry in folks--not to mention, loads of random discounts at restaurants and shops for people on Pokémon Go missions.
