Paprika Roast Chicken
Recession, recession, recession. Everywhere you look, there's talk about budgets, cutting corners and spending less. And the kitchen is no exception. But just because you might be cutting back on your grocery shopping budget, doesn't mean you have to cut back on flavor too. Far from it! Simple ingredients used well can save both your budget and your palate.
When it comes to saving money in the kitchen, people always seem to gravitate towards chicken recipes. Chicken is cheap and there are a million recipes to choose from. I'm personally a big fan of roasting it; this way you let the flavors really shine through, and better still, you're in and out of the kitchen in no time flat. That's a movement I can get behind!
I recently spied this recipe for Paprika Roast Chicken in the February issue of Gourmet magazine. These days, especially during the week, I look for fast recipes that don't sacrifice flavor, and this one fits the bill. Even better than that, it won't break the bank. The only change I made was to throw some potatoes (diced small) into the pan too - man does not live on onions alone.
