Amazon Prime Day 2018 Keurig K-Cafe and K-Cups

As a former barista, current insomniac, and an adult human, there are four things I need in my life. Yes, a caffeine machine that allows me to brew my favorite morning beverages makes the list.  Because honey, it’s 2018. If you ain’t addicted to caffeine, are you even alive? Incidentally, here are my other three necessities.

  1. Mortgage money.
  2. Sleep.
  3. Access to HBO for the much-anticipated final season of Game of Thrones (Khaleesi, please don’t go.)

But I digress. Back to the all-in-one brewer we go.

Each morning for the past couple years, I’ve gone up to the fifth floor of our office and started my day with a latte courtesy of our Breville Barista Express BES870XL Programmable Espresso Machine (lord, what a mouthful). It’s sleek, it’s shiny, it’s effective, it’s…expensive. I work in digital media, people. If you think I have an extra $600 sitting around to throw down on a java maker for my home, then I’ve got some beachfront real estate to sell you in Atlantis.

Nonetheless, this hasn’t stopped me from at least pining for an such a machine at home. Preferably one that also makes a regular cup of coffee, because I don’t know how many times I’ve had to tell my parents when they come to stay that I only have a tea kettle (sorry for the lack of coffee, Neil and Liz). If only there were a machine that satisfied all of these needs—cost effectiveness and the ability to make quick and delicious, intensely caffeinated drinks…

Well, Keurig has answered my prayers! They just released the Keurig K-Café Single Serve Coffee, Latte & Cappuccino Maker, and I am hooked.

It's Affordable

At $179.99, it’s not going to break the bank like buying that Breville would. And considering the amount of money I’d pay for daily lattes at a coffee shop, this puppy will pay for itself in no time.

It Can Do All The Things

You can brew a simple cup of coffee. You can brew a creamy latte. You can make a cappuccino. You can even make iced coffees and lattes using the cold milk frother feature. The concentrated coffee shot button allows you to make the beverage you desire using your regular K-Cup pods. Regardless of your caffeine needs, this machine has you covered. And you know what? It's easy to operate. You don't need former barista training to use this beauty.

It's Fast

With most espresso machines, making a latte or a cappuccino can take a little time. I know with the Breville I can’t steam milk and brew shots at the same time, so I have to wait on one to finish before starting the other. Not so with the K-Café. I can do both simultaneously, so I get a start-to-finish coffee shop drink in less than five minutes. Which is amazing, because the last thing you want to do in the morning is wait longer for caffeine. Pretty sure that’s been classified as a war crime by The Hague.

It's Easy to Clean

Bonus? It’s stupid-easy to clean as well! Just throw your pod away when you’ve brewed your cup and then wash your milk frother out with some soap and water and boom, clean! (The frother is also perfectly dishwasher safe if you wanna take that route.) That honestly might be the thing I like most about this contraption—no muss, no fuss.  Some mornings I’ll deliberately avoid our upstairs Breville because I don’t have time for the ensuing cleanup. Gone are those days with this K-Café.

Final verdict? If you’re looking for an at-home, all-in-one coffee brewer that’s fast, affordable, easy to clean, and does all the things, the Keurig K-Café has this former barista’s seal of approval.
