The 'Green Eggs and Ham' Netflix Series Is Finally Happening
Netflix just released a 15-second promo for the Ellen Degeneres-produced Green Eggs and Ham series—and it’s about time.
The 13-episode animated series, which was first announced way back in 2015, will feature an extremely star-studded cast: Diane Keaton, Michael Douglas, Tracy Morgan, Adam DeVine, Eddie Izzard, Ilana Glazer, Daveed Diggs, Jeffrey Wright, John Turturro, Keegan-Michael Key, and Jillian Bell will voice characters.
You may be wondering exactly how Netflix is planning to stretch the story into 13 episodes. According to The A.V. Club, they’ve beefed up the plot a bit.
The series will follow Sam-I-Am (Adam Devine) and Guy-I-Am (Michael Douglas) on the crazy adventure that ensues following a briefcase mix-up. Described as a “postmodern Planes, Trains, and Automobiles, the plot includes a rare animal called a Chickeraffe, a bounty hunter goat, and a whimsical town called Meepville. Here’s what Netflix’ summary doesn’t mention: green eggs and freakin’ ham.
Look, it’s not that we’re not excited to learn about Chickeraffes and the people of Meepville. But here’s to hoping that the series stays true to the source material and answers the important questions: Would he like them in a box? What about with a fox? If nothing else, the whole house/mouse situation must be addressed.
Give the people what they want, Netflix.
