Chick-fil-A

THIS IS NOT A DRILL.

It looks like Chick-fil-A is finally considering turning up the heat on its overwhelmingly mild menu.

The chain started testing Spicy Chick-n Strips in select markets last year, but nothing major ever came of it--until now.

Starting today, the lucky folks who live in Phoenix, Arizona will be able to choose from four new spicy options. Four! In addition to the Spicy Chicken Strips, guests will be able to try a Spicy Chick-n-Strips Biscuit, a Grilled Spicy Deluxe Sandwich, and a Grilled Spicy Deluxe Bundle.

Conspicuously absent from that list is Spicy Chicken Nuggets, which is disappointing. But, hey, we’ll take what we can get.

“We’re excited to spice-up the menu and see what happens in these test markets,” said Matt Reed from Chick-fil-A’s menu development team.

Instead of a regular chicken patty, the spicy biscuit features two Spicy Chick-n-Strips “perfectly seasoned with a spicy blend of peppers and served on a freshly baked buttermilk biscuit.”

TBH, though, we’re most excited about the Grilled Spicy Chicken Deluxe Sandwich. Healthy fast food options are often bland, so it’s nice that Chick-fil-A’s trying something new with a light sandwich. Guests in Phoenix looking to feed a crowd can order a Grilled Spicy Deluxe Bundle, which serves 10.

Hopefully this test goes well and these spicy new menu items become available nationwide. C’mon, Phoenix--we’re counting on you!
