Chick-fil-A Is Making Big Menu Changes in 2020
Find out what’s disappearing and what’s getting rotated in
For people, a new year is a good time to purge the old and start anew. Fittingly enough given that corporations are also people in the eyes of the Supreme Court, Chick-fil-A is also taking the new year as an opportunity to shed items from its menu that don’t spark joy.
Starting on January 13, the popular fast food chain will try out a streamlined set of offerings, casting out six older items across the breakfast and “regular” menus in order to make room for some new eats, Today reports.
Among those getting the boot are the sausage and egg biscuit (which makes sense given that there’s no chicken) and sunflower multigrain bagels at breakfast. In terms of the rest of the day, say goodbye to side salads, the Grilled Cool Wrap, decaf coffee (which is for cowards), and—surprisingly—the Original Chick-n-Strips.
Despite the breadth of menu deductions, the new menu items are all of a decidedly spicy bent. They include the Grilled Spicy Deluxe Sandwich, Spicy Chick-n-Strips (sorry, fans of bland Chick-n-Strips) and a Spicy Chick-n-Strips Biscuit.
If for some strange reason you can’t live without getting your decaf coffee from Chick-fil-A, don’t worry too much just yet. This menu revamp is only a test in two markets, specifically Charlotte and a few different locations in Arizona. The rest of us will be spared … for now.
In a noteworthy nod to sustainability, it sounds like Chick-fil-A will be ditching the use of its signature styrofoam cups in favor of clear plastic for milkshakes, iced coffee and frosted beverages.
In life, the only constant is change. And not even an institution like Chick-fil-A is immune from it. Here’s hoping the year ahead brings the serenity you need to get by without Original Chick-n-Strips.
