As we turn the calendar to February, it is a time of good news. For those who made it through Dry January, the libations may flow once again. Punxusutawney Phil didn't see his shadow on the 2nd, meaning we’re due for an early spring.

So what do you get when you combine all that with the fact that Valentine’s Day is less than two weeks away? Well, you get Applebees’ new Vodka Strawberry Lemonade, the American casual dining chain’s latest iteration of its Neighborhood Drink of the Month $1 cocktail series.

Compared to some of the wilder zombie and shark-themed entries in this series of rotating monthly drinks, the Vodka Strawberry Lemonade is straightforward to the point that it requires little explanation. As Applebees’ website puts it, it’s “exactly what it says it is. Vodka. Strawberry. Lemonade.” That makes this pink, potent potable a “refreshingly simple drink with your three favorite ingredients.”

From the look of it, this 10-ounce mug of refreshing pre-springtime sipping is available all day every day for just a buck at your neighborhood Applebee’s. The fact that it’s a leap year means you have a full 29 days to take advantage of this deal. Even better, Leap Day is a Saturday, so you can have a few of these and pretend you live in the 30 Rock universe where Leap Day is celebrated as a massive holiday.

So, yeah. Other than the fact that prices and participation may vary, that’s pretty much all there is to it. One bit of advice, though: you probably shouldn’t go to Applebee’s for Valentine’s Day unless you’re single or planning to become single by the time the check shows up. Thankfully, there are 28 other wonderful February days for kicking back and sipping some Vodka Strawberry Lemonade on the cheap.
