And We’re Off: World Cup Day 2
Day two of the World Cup 2014 just started and we’re back with another battle of the foods. There are three matches today, so get creative and throw a World Cup party tonight inspired by these six dishes.
For ou
r first match Mexican vs. Cameroon at 11:00 AM EST, we have a battle of the sides. On the Mexico side we have a creamy, guacamole with a hit of spice from delicious jalapeños served with fried tortilla chips.
And on the Cameroon side we have
traditional fried plantain chips that only require 1 tablespoon of olive oil to perfect the crisp layer on the outside.
For our second match, Spain takes on Netherlands at 2:00 PM EST. For our Spanish dish we have Traditional Spanish Paella, featuring chorizo, jumbo shrimp, chicken thighs, prosciutto, and a beautiful variety of herbs and spices.
Repre
senting the Netherlands, we have delicious Mini Pumpernickel Grilled-Cheese and Pickle Sandwiches filled with aged gouda cheese, crunchy dill pickles, and smoky ham.
And last, b
ut certainly not least, Chile takes on Australia at 5:00 PM EST. Representing Chile, we have crispy Beef Empanadas filled with ground sirloin, sweet raisins, and briny olives, flavored by cumin, cayenne pepper, dried oregano, and chili pepper.
And for a sweet finish to our meal, we have Mini-Pavlova that brings a sweet meringue cloud with a fresh fruit filling to your table for a light and refreshing dessert.
