Recipe: Strawberry Banana Smoothies
Like a lot of people this week, I'm feeling a mite overfed after Christmas celebrations. This morning a smoothie sounded like a great breakfast option, as well as a great way to try out the awesome new food processor that my husband gave me for Christmas.
Serves: 4 (1.5 cups in a serving)
Prep Time: 5 minutes
1 T. flax seed
1/2 pound frozen strawberries
1 cup yogurt
2 T. honey
1 cup orange juice
1-1/2 cups milk
This recipe couldn't be any easier. Start by grinding the flax seed into a powder. I used my coffee grinder, but a food processor would probably work too. (You can find flax seed in bulk food at many grocery stores or at a health food store.) Place all the ingredients into the food processor and process for about 30 seconds. You can add more milk or juice if a thinner drink is desired. Enjoy!
