Simple yet satisfying, yogurt is a versatile building block for any number of dishes, both savory and sweet. Yogurt is filling enough to act as an easy main dish, but plays just as hard on the sidelines as a dip, topping, and so much more. 

If you put your mind to it you can come up with all kinds of ways to cook with yogurt. In the meantime, here are 40 great ways to start using plain yogurt in the kitchen:

Mix it with confectioners sugar to make a cake glaze

Substitute it for butter in baked goods like banana bread

Serve it with sweet or savory oats

Turn it into labneh

Spread it on a cheese sandwich before grilling it. 

Turn it into more yogurt

Use it as a rub or marinade. 

Make mango lassi

Scoop a dollop over a baked potato.
