Sure, some food stays fresh longer when stored in the refrigerator. Contrary to popular belief, bread doesn't. It actually stales faster in the fridge. Staling occurs more quickly at temperatures just above freezing, but slows when bread is stored below freezing. If you're going to use the bread within a couple days, store it at room temperature in a zip-top plastic bag instead of the one it came in. If it's going to take you longer to use bread, wrap the loaf well in plastic or foil before placing it in the freezer.
