To make waffles with a crisp exterior and a light-as-air interior, try these tips!
- Separate the egg yolks from the whites. Then whip the egg whites until stiff peeks form. Folding the airy egg whites into the batter will create a fluffier waffle.
- Don't open the waffle maker before the waffles are done! If your waffle maker doesn't have an indicator light, look for steam. When steam stops coming out of your waffle maker, the waffles are ready.
- To prevent your waffles from sticking: make sure your waffle iron is very hot, do not use nonstick spray on a nonstick waffle iron, and don't try to remove the waffles before they're done.
