How to Make Oscar Awards Cupcakes

Who's ready for the The Oscars? Now that we know what we're serving up for our viewing party, we are! If you're looking for the perfect themed dessert to make your guests feel like red carpet royalty, we've got you covered. These cupcakes look so elegant but are really easy to put together.

-1 dozen unfrosted cupcakes

-Vanilla frosting

-Gold and clear sprinkles

-3-4 pre-made pie crusts

-Egg whites from 2-3 large eggs

-1 can of edible gold color mist

Roll out the pre-made pie crust and cut out the statuette shapes using the free downloadable stencil found here. Using a pastry brush, brush each shape with egg whites and sprinkle with clear sprinkles. Bake for 12 minutes at 350 degrees F. Allow to cool for 10 minutes. Using edible gold color mist, spray the pieces and set them aside to dry. Ice the top of the cupcakes with your favorite frosting and immediately dip the tops into gold sprinkles. Then, insert the bottom of the oscar statuette into the top of each cupcake.

We don't know about you, but these gold-dusted awards definitely have our vote! Be sure to tune in to the 88th annual Academy Awards on February 28, 2016, 5:30 PM PST. Happy Baking!
