Food splattered in a microwave can be hard to clean up. To do so, mix 1 cup water and 1/4 cup white vinegar in a large microwave-safe bowl; bring to a boil at HIGH in the microwave oven, probably about 3 minutes, depending on the wattage. Leave untouched in the microwave for 5 minutes without further heating. The steam will loosen baked-on food and deodorize the microwave for an easier cleanup job.
