Growing up, my family always had pizza on Friday nights, and we still do that to this day. We used to order pizza for delivery, but a couple of years ago, we started making them ourselves. It's so much easier to control the calories or how healthy your pizza is that way. It's also really fun to experiment with any toppings you want. For example, this Cobb Salad Pizza combines the main dish and the side all into one!

Let's start with the crust. You can use any kind of pre-made pizza crust for this, or even your own homemade pizza dough. For awhile we were buying fresh, homemade dough from the bakery section of our grocery store. Then all we would do is roll it out and cover it in our favorite toppings! These days, we usually just buy some flatbread or naan and make our own individual pizzas. It also bakes much faster this way because all you have to do is wait for the cheese to melt and for your toppings to get warm. They're perfect for busy weeknights or fun evenings!

This pizza from Cooking Light is essentially just a pizza crust covered in all the ingredients that make up a cobb salad. After the crust bakes, it's sprinkled with some cheese. Cooked, chopped bacon and grilled chicken are added to an oil and vinegar mixture, which is then tossed with tomatoes, onion, and fresh greens. The salad is arranged on top of the crust and you're good to go! So why not just serve some bread alongside a regular salad? Well this pizza version is just a little more fun and creative. Do something different this weekend and serve your salad on top of a pizza!
