When baking a cake, the last thing you want it to do is stick to the pan, especially if you plan on taking it to a holiday party or family gathering. For an easy release, coat the pan with cooking spray, line the bottom of the pan with parchment paper or wax paper, coat the paper with cooking spray, and then dust with flour. To ensure that the paper fits the pan, trace the bottom of the pan onto the paper and cut out the shape just inside the traced line.
