How do you eat leftover pumpkin pie? Straight from the pie pan, with the fridge still half open? Warmed, with a scoop of whatever ice cream you have on hand? But oh dear reader, have you ever thought to combine cold pie and ice cream into one serious milkshake? Well, you should. Here’s how it’s done.
Scrape a slice or two of pumpkin pie into a blender along with a massive scoop of ice cream and some milk. If you’re feeling a boozy brunch vibe, add a splash or two of bourbon. Pour the milkshake into a tall glass and top the drink with a dollop of whipped cream and a shower of nutmeg. Spoiler alert: This method works very well with pies besides pumpkin: Just imagine a slice of blueberry blended with vanilla ice cream, or coconut cream pie blended with double chocolate. You’re welcome.
