But it's only available in Canada

Sure, you can get an Egg McMuffin or any type of McGriddle any time of day. But there's always been one glaring omission from the McDonald's breakfast menu: a proper McDonald's breakfast burger. And finally, the folks at McDonald's in Canada have decided to rectify this error with their brand new Potato Rosti and Bacon Burger. As the website Brand Eating reported earlier this month, this burger is topped with bacon bits, cheddar cheese, and a hash brown patty, also known as a potato rosti. The whole thing is served on a toasted bun that's topped with oats, which sounds a bit weird, but hey, at least it's breakfast-y.

Your window of opportunity to get your hands on this McDonald's breakfast burger is limited, though. It's only available only at McDonald's in Canada this holiday season. But here's hoping it's not the last. After all, there's a precedent for topping a McDonald's burger with a hash brown patty. Back in 2011, McDonald's Japan came out with a so-called "Big America 2" burger; the Idaho version of the burger was topped with a hash brown patty, of course.

Yet, in the cruelest of ironies, Americans cannot enjoy the joy that is a hash brown served on a McDonald's burger, arguably one of the most American burger combos out there. And you could order a regular McDonald's cheeseburger and a hash brown and then plop the hash brown on the cheeseburger patty. But it's just not the same. So for now, we'll just have to let Canada be better at burgers, too.
