The world is a flaming hellscape and it's hard to be a person in it sometimes. One way to feed the gnawing void inside is with the darkest foods you can find. Black quinoa meets a host of savory seasonings—plus a modicum of sweetness from Japanese black sugar—to create a dish that will salve the pangs of the beast within, even if the physical universe in which your mortal body exists remains a total vacuum of hope. Keep up to date with new episodes of No Pressure by following and liking the No Pressure Facebook page.

Instant Pot Black Quinoa

Ingredients

2 cups black quinoa
1/4 cup black soy sauce
1/4 cup double black vinegar
2 tablespoons black sesame oil
2 tablespoons black sesame seeds
1 tablespoon Japanese black sugar
1 tablespoon black salt
2 teaspoons nigella seeds
1 teaspoon Szechuan peppercorns
2 ½ cups water

Directions

Thoroughly rinse quinoa in a fine mesh strainer, then add to Instant Pot with remaining ingredients. Set Instant Pot to high pressure for 10 minutes and close the sealing valve. Allow pressure to release naturally, open the lid, stir, and serve to your favorite Goth, New Wave, or Industrial artist.
