But only at select locations

After some wild speculation and some not-too-subtle social media posts, Arby’s announced it will start serving a new sandwich with duck breast at select locations across the country. It all started on October 9 with a clever tweet featuring two camo-clad hunters hiding in the bush amongst a couple of wooden ducks with the caption “On the hunt for our next sandwich…” You certainly didn’t have to be of the savant variety to catch their drift.

Their new sandwich features “premium duck breast, smoked cherry sauce, crispy onions all on a signature Arby's bun” and will be available in very limited quantities starting on October 20, 2018.

With this sandwich, Arby’s is doing what most major food chains have not yet done: gone duck hunting and it will be a litmus test for the rest of fast food giants out there wrestling with the idea of serving mankind’s 17th or 18th best friend. Of the continental 48 states, this duck dynasty will only hit 16, mostly catering to those living in the South, West, and Southwest.

For a first-hand look at the restaurant’s take on fowl play (I'm so sorry) you can check out their landing page and visit any of the sixteen locations they're serving it. Will the famous roast beef chain master the duck sandwich? Who knows, but at least they’re going to take a quack at it.
