7 Celebrity-Approved Breakfasts to Inspire Your Next Meal
Famous people love bacon and eggs, too
You know you’ve reached a certain level of intimacy with someone when you know what they eat everyday, which probably why we’re interested in knowing what celebrities eat for breakfast. There is a world of difference between someone who eats an egg sandwich in the car each day and a person who downs a protein shake after going to the gym. Even if famous people are eating food prepared by personal chefs off of menus designed by nutritionists, finding out what they like to eat in the morning makes them seem more human and down-to-earth. It can also give a candid look at their personal preferences, personalities, and regular routines.
There are a lot of celebrities who love breakfast, and more often than not, their favorite breakfast dishes are fairly simple to prepare at home, even without the assistance of a professional or going out of the way at the grocery story. There are, of course, some exceptions to this rule, but those out-of-the-box breakfast preferences are revealing in their own way.
Hearing about celebrities’ favorite breakfast foods offers a tiny glimpse into their lives, and it turns out you don’t have to be famous to eat breakfast like a celebrity.
Chrissy Teigen eats the same breakfast with her husband John Legend every morning, “like robots,” she admitted in a 2013 interview with Bon Appétit. “I always do two eggs over easy with turkey bacon—we enjoy the taste of it more than pork—and avocado.” Teigen is also a fan of Legend’s legendary egg and sausage sandwiches for breakfast, a recipe she included in her 2016 cookbook Cravings.
Kim Kardashian West
Kim Kardashian West’s diet is dictated by a nutritionist and prepared by a private chef, which means her breakfast tends to be on the healthier side. She explained to Harper’s Bazaar she scarfs down a quick meal of “scrambled eggs or oatmeal, or a protein shake with fruit,” before her kids wake up. Kardashian West’s favorite non-nutritionist food, however, is churros (a great brunch dish).
Since rapper 2 Chainz doesn’t wake up until noon, he usually refers to his breakfast as brunch. It turns out 2 Chainz suffers from acid reflux and ulcers, and he prefers having a chef prepare his meals, according to an interview with Bon Appétit. A regular breakfast is “turkey bacon, oatmeal, maybe some egg whites, some kind of fruit, or avocado,” but his homemade pancakes were a big hit on Instagram.
Justin Timberlake loves breakfast so much, he eats it twice. Timberlake explained in an interview with Bon Appétit that he eats waffles with flaxseed and almond butter, plus a single scrambled egg before working out in the morning. Post-workout, he’ll have something high-protein, like a protein shake or another egg.
Taylor Swift’s go-to breakfast in the morning is “buckwheat crepes with ham, Parmesan cheese, and a fried egg on top,” always with a glass of orange juice, as she told Bon Appétit.
Since Questlove is a DJ, an author, and the drummer for the Roots, among many other occupations, it should come as little surprise that this famous foodie doesn’t have a typical breakfast, since every workday is different for him. But, as he told InStyle, Questlove’s favorite breakfast food is one of the simplest: Peanut Butter Cap’n Crunch.
Few celebrities have more bewildering, or more heavily publicized, diets than Gwyneth Paltrow. The queen of Goop recently released the recipe for her go-to morning smoothie, which includes almond milk, almond butter, vanilla mushroom protein powder, and so-called moon dust, which costs between $50 and $65 for a two-ounce jar. According to the recipe for this expensive blended beverage, Paltrow “drinks one of these every morning, whether or not she’s detoxing.”
