Let's get this out of the way: Lyrically speaking, jelly usually means "butts." Butts butts butts butts butts. Lots of butts. All the butts. Jam, too—there's very little mystery here. And yet the songs are so endlessly delightful! In honor of Jelly Week, Extra Crispy is sharing our favorite songs about jam and jelly, selected with a few parameters in mind. It’s got to refer to a jiggly substance (sorry, "Space Jam,""Kick Out the Jams,"and the infamous "Lady Marmalade"), must include lyrics that actually mention breakfast preserves (we’ll get you later, Tyler, the Creator’s "Smuckers"), and oughta motivate us to stand up and jam out.

Here’s a baker’s dozen of our favorites:

"Bootylicious"—Destiny’s Child

“I shake my jelly at every chance
When I whip with my hips you slip into a trance
I'm hoping you can handle all this jelly that I have
Now let's cut a rug while we scat some jazz

I don't think you ready for this jelly
I don't think you ready for this jelly
I don't think you ready for this
'Cause my body too bootylicious for yo babe”

"While I’ve Got It On My Mind"—Johnny Cash

“Layin' 'round home with a ballgame on
Feelin' fairly fine
Blackberry jam is cookin' in the pan
And the jam and the cook are mine
I like the honey from the hives of home
And berries from my own vines
And I like to get my lovin'
While I've got it on my mind”

"Peanut Butter"—RuPaul featuring Big Freedia

“Must be jelly ‘cause jam don’t shake
Spread that jelly spread it good
Peanut butter here
Kiss my grits
Your momma’s in the kitchen but the oven’s on the fritz
Your daddy’s in jail raising hell
And your sister on the corner
Sister on the corner
Selling p-nah p-nah peanut butter”

"She Don’t Use Jelly"—The Flaming Lips

“I know a girl who thinks of ghosts
She'll make ya breakfast
She'll make ya toast
But she don't use butter
And she don't use cheese
She don't use jelly
Or any of these
She uses Vaseline”

"Peanut Butter Jelly"—Galantis

“Spread it like peanut butter jelly
Do it like I owe you some money”

"Poi Dog Pondering"—Postcards from a Dream (Toast and Jelly)

“Breakfast, good morning everybody
The sun is up and there’s lots of toast and jelly
You can get it if you really want
You gotta try hard, try hard”

"It Must Be Jelly 'Cause Jam Don't Shake Like That"—Glenn Miller and His Orchestra

“It must be jelly ‘cause jam don’t shake like that
Oh mama, you’re so big and fat”

"Loose Booty Judy"—The New Orleans Swamp Donkeys Traditional Jass Band

“It’s gotta be jelly cause jam don't jiggle like that
You oughta see it
It looks like two Christmas hams down the back of her pants”

"Ego Trippin' Part 3"—De La Soul featuring Flavor Flav

“Party on the moon but first I gots to spoon
It's wiggle your ass man, you made the jam jiggle like
Whoomp, not that, ain't it?”

"Starfish and Coffee"—Prince

"Starfish and coffee
Maple syrup and jam
Butterscotch clouds, a tangerine
And a side order of ham"

"Jam Up, Jelly Tight"—Tommy Roe

“Jam up and jelly tight
You look a little naughty
But you're so polite”

"Buggface"—Outkast

“Buggface toe jam, from the face up 'cause you don't give a jam
Jam to the jam, toast jelly to the jam
Imagine me now jammin', shovin’ it up your monkey jam”

"Guava Jelly"—Bob Marley & The Wailers

“Baby, here I am,
Come rub it on my belly
Like guava jelly”
