Sip for the Cure Teas (not pictured: Pink Lemonade Green Tea)

Working at MyRecipes I get to work on many cool projects, and my most recent one involved updating our Shop Pink gallery of food-related breast cancer awareness products. The Republic of Tea was kind enough to send us a sampling of their Sip for the Cure tea collection to photograph, and I wanted to try the flavors and share my thoughts with you.

For each tin sold, Republic of Tea donates $1 to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, with a minimum annual donation of $100,000. This collection is available all year long, which I think is a wonderful thing since so many food-related promotions only last in October.

So, what about that tea? I've sipped very few Republic of Tea flavors I didn't like, and these were no exception. My favorites are the Red Cherry White Tea and the Pink Grapefruit Green Tea. I like very rich flavored teas, and these two fit the bill. I could really smell and taste the cherry and citrus in each respective tea.

I had some snickerdoodles to nibble on with my tea, but I think these Apricot Scones would be great with my two favorite flavors as well.

Another thing I love about this collection is the tin design -- the soft pinks, greens, and yellows are bright and cheery, and I love the artistic renditions of the fruits. These teas would be wonderful for a gift, and Republic of Tea also sells stoneware mugs that you could pair with the teas.

What about you? Do you have any food-related products you love that also help support breast cancer research?
