As a Mom-to-Be, Cinco de Mayocan still be a blast...just without the tequila. Of course, I miss the occasional glass of wine or fruity cocktail that I enjoyed before I was pregnant but my husband and I have gotten pretty creative in the mocktail department. Our latest creation is the Mock-mosa, a simple combination of Grapefruit Pierre and orange juice that tastes quite similar to a mimosa, especially when made in a champagne flute. I'm anxious to try it with some pomegranate juice this weekend for Mother's Day--yum!
Since today is one of my favorite days to celebrate and enjoy a cocktail, I'm in search of the perfect Mock-a-rita. I found some delicious margaritas on MyRecipes.com that should taste close to the actual thing sans the tequila, triple sec, etc. Here are the 3 cocktails I'm eyeing for this evening and how I plan to make them nonalcoholic:
Watermelon-Mint Margaritas (skip the tequila and use orange or apple juice in its place)
Margarita Sunrise (skip the tequila, double the OJ and omit the orange liqueur, and use cherry or pom juice in place of the grenadine)
Grapefruit Margarita (skip the tequila and add an extra splash of grapefruit juice, lime juice, and ginger ale)
