At the risk of an intervention, I am once again writing about cocktails. Last time, it was a martini craving that inspired me.

Today, it is the Paloma. The fruity, fizzy, tequila-based Paloma has become my favorite drink to accompany Mexican recipes.Palomas couldn't be simpler to make: tequila + grapefruit soda (thinkFresca) + a lime wedge. No Fresca? You can substitute grapefruitjuice and club soda for the grapefruit soda.

The Paloma is smoother than any margarita, never requires a blender, and the tiny bubbles make it super-refreshing.

Check out this Paloma recipe from thebar.com and try one today. One sip and you'll agree that tequila and grapefruit were made for each other.

Cheers!
