It is no secret that I was a late to the Instant Pot multi-cooker wave. Being in possession of a stovetop pressure cooker, a rice cooker, and more slow cookers than I could shake a stick at when they were initially released, it seemed like an unnecessary expense. But then two of my friends came out with critically acclaimed Instant Pot cookbooks (The Complete Indian Instant Pot by Chandra Ram and Instantly Southern by Sheri Castle) that I really wanted to cook from, so I bit the bullet. And once I got it, I was hooked.

My Instant Pot has been a godsend during this pandemic, making last minute meals a possibility on nights when we have kitchen fatigue. Whether it is a simple batch of rice to serve as a base, a quick one-pot pasta recipe, or one of the Tiller & Hatch frozen meals we are stocking in the freezer, the Instant Pot has been in nearly constant rotation for the past few months.

But wait! There are more amazing Instant appliances!

When I found out that Instant brand actually makes all sorts of other appliances, I was intrigued. Turns out, they are far from a one-hit wonder, and I have been testing and experimenting with some of their other appliances with equally terrific results.

If you already love your Instant Pot, here are 6 other small appliances they make that you’re sure to love as much. If you don’t have an Instant Pot yet, check out my pick for the model to get you started! Welcome to your Dear Santa list!

A toaster oven!

As I am decidedly a toaster oven girl, I was excited to try out the company’s new multi-use toaster oven. This one takes up no more counter space than my old toaster oven, but has nearly double the inside capacity, and is also an air fryer, dehydrator, and a mini oven with convection capability. It is large enough to roast a chicken or bake a large pizza. The interior has a nonstick coating for easy cleanup, and I have started to think of it as a bonus mini oven.

A coffee maker!

As I’ve previously confessed, I cannot make coffee. Which means my husband and I have been pondering a pod-style coffee maker for ages. The problem has always been that our friends who use them seem completely evenly divided as to their preference for the Keurig style or the Nespresso style, and we have been unable to decide between them, so have avoided pulling the trigger. Instant solved that problem with its new pod coffee maker that takes BOTH K style cups and Nespresso pods. So now we can stock both styles of pod and not have to choose!

A milk frother!

You might think this is extravagant, but think again: Being able to quickly and easily make a great warm frothy milk is the key to superior home barrista-ing for lattes or cappuccinos (not to mention amazing instant hot chocolate!). I’m loving the new Instant milk frother; it has settings for both hot and cold frothing, and makes a really thick foam with serious staying power. Consider it the perfect sidekick for your new coffee pod maker.

A sous vide cooker!

I love cooking sous vide and have tested many different types over the past few years, from giant tub models to sleek units that can attach to any vessel. You can imagine my delight when I saw that Instant brand has developed its own slim version that works just as well as other units twice the price! This is absolutely the perfect thing to get if you or someone you love wants to start playing with sous vide cookery; it has a clear digital display, a quiet motor, and it can be used either with or without your existing Instant Pot!

A slow cooker!

You know I am the ultimate slow cooker evangelist, so when I say that the Instant Pot Aura Pro Multi-Use Slow Cooker is my new favorite slow cooker, please do take heed. Because while I love my slow-cooker-only units, this one has more than 11 functions, including sous vide, rice cooker, and yogurt maker. The sear/sauté function makes your life so much easier, since you can brown right in the cooker and save yourself a pot to wash. Plus, it is programmable, so if you should start that stew at three, but are going to be mid-Zoom, the machine can get dinner going without you. And the large 8-quart capacity means that you can make enough of things to feed your whole family, or to have leftovers to freeze for future meals.

An air fryer (lid)!

If you already have a 6-quart Instant Pot and don’t want to invest in a second machine to do air frying, check out this new lid that converts your compatible model Instant Pot to an air fryer! This is perfect when your storage space is limited, or you want to try out air frying to see if it fits into your cooking life.
